Alisha Torrealba Erao offers voice lessons and coaching in Los Angeles, California, offering both in-person and virtual sessions. Alisha has been teaching voice for 20 years to all ages, genders, and experience levels interested in exploring any genre of music.

She first fell in love with music education while studying vocal performance at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. After graduating, she became active in the DIY music scene, playing in bands, learning music production, and teaching voice students. This experience outside of the classical vocal realm inspired a passion for tailoring lessons to each student’s goal as their own artist.

Alisha also participates in coaching large scale vocal projects and ensembles, such as The Neurodivergent Voices Album. In 2025, she worked with NDVA to bring together 12 LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent artists who produced an original song on this collaborative album. Alisha coached 6 of the artists, with the mission to empower neurodivergent LGBTQIA2S+ artists to share their stories through song to celebrate the beautiful and complex lives we live.

Alisha is currently expanding upon her own artistic and pedagogical journey as a graduate student in the VoiceArts program at the california institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Alisha believes in a holistic teaching philosophy, recognizing that internal and external day-to-day experiences shape our singing. In working with an invisible instrument, attention to somatic sensation and deep listening, coupled with healthy technique, offers a pathway to vocal freedom. As an honored guest within students' vocal landscape, Alisha aims to empower exploration and curiosity to connect with the multitudes contained in one’s authentic voice, and thus, one’s artistry.

Alisha utilizes a range of traditional, contemporary, and even experimental singing techniques that allow for healthy exploration of vocal freedom in any genre. Lessons can additionally provide nourishment in all areas of musical development including music theory instruction, sight reading/singing music, performance training, music composition and production.

My experience with Alisha has always been one of mutual respect, outstanding professionalism, and a unique approach to the art of singing as a mind/body experience. Alisha is one of the best voice teachers I’ve had, and I would recommend her to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge, not only as a singer but as a artist.

Alisha’s warm and encouraging approach to teaching voice creates the space for my 12 year old daughter to feel confident and comfortable. Alisha beholds the delicate balance of nurturing my daughter’s developing voice while challenging her with new vocal material and exercises. Alisha has been a great mentor for my daughter in helping her overcome fears and realize her true potential as a singer!
